Slower swingers on JNPG?

Postby brattenj » Mon May 09, 2016 9:52 pm

Any simulator players here slow swingers?

The distances I am getting on the game are laughable at best.

I'm a short hitter and I know it but when I hit a great drive and get a carry of 140-150 yards it's a joke.

I use the shot boost in my profile at 10% and it gives me my exact yardages as checked numerous times indoors and out.

I wanted to play the summer tour but it won't allow the boost in tourney play (which I understand) but the algorithm is off for slower swingers.

I guess if it won't be fixed, I'll just have fun playing on my own and with friends.

It's a pity as I was looking forward to some fun tournaments, but I can't compete hitting 175 yard total drives on 6400 yard courses.

My avg drive on Sim tour with GC2 is only 236 and I'm a small guy with avg speeds. This could be a low launch low spin issue or you're not used to hitting indoors? Most are fine with distances in JNPG. Post some data.

With a GC2-T I don't have a screen to verify data. Since its Bluetooth I can't connect the GC2-T to my foresight app while also connecting it to JNPG.

Now I can look at the Foresight FR1 data but it seems juiced to me.

Again it would be different if I was expecting 250 but when I can't hit the ball but 175 max with driver, 100 yards with a 7 iron etc. it's just not any fun.

I'll continue to play the crap out of the game, just not tourney rounds I guess.

I really appreciate the help and responses.

JNPG just can't handle my slow 80 mph driver swing.

This chart while not gospel, is VERY close to exact.
The 80 mph column is spot on for my distances.

JNPG is giving me numbers as if I'm swinging 20 mph slower.

Chart is just a guide. Go to FSS range and post screen shots of some data.

If you can get some shot data numbers from the app can then see whats what, ie some screen shots showing ball speed, spin, LA etc.

Once can see exactly what ball data is being generated can see as to why its showing in game shorter than you expect.

Hi mate, not sure of my swing speed but ball speed with the driver is between 125-130 mph which would put me about 90mph swing speed according to your chart. My carry numbers would be almost spot on with that chart also, I average 220 yards including roll on tour after playing almost every tourney. The longest carry I've had indoors is 198m(217 to you guys in yards), I can guarantee I can carry further irl but I think quite a few things can come into play, mats for one thing I don't believe help with launch angle, obviously the mental side of swinging a club indoors is a big hurdle also. The numbers you state would suggest a decrease in club speed of between 5-10 mph when you are swinging inside, I can let you know I averaged under 200 yards the first few tourneys and am slowly working that up to near what it should be. Do you have any height issues with your setup at all? If it is similar to me that can be a real problem. Oh, and join the tour as well, just ask hope for normal hardness every time, I do. Cheers Jase.

hi brattenj,

If you want to see what can be done, send me a private message and I can enable a debugging mode on your OGT Interface that will allow you to see all the shot data. I can take a look at some of your shots on the driving range and we can see what's going on that can be modified, if anything.

Let me know,
Rick

I did not think there was a boost in JNPG. How is that done?

OGT interface has a boost feature for GC2 users but it's only available in non-tournament use. All OGT tournaments are protected against boosting or any other kind of data modifications.
