Ceiling Protection

Postby leoapd » Sat Jan 13, 2018 3:33 pm

I currently use ceiling foam to absorb high lofted shots towards the ceiling, but want a net setup. As far as ceiling netting, could someone post a pic of your setup, and which net you use? Thanks

I use a basic net that cost me 60$. I cut out what I wanted to use and used the rope-side of the net to stretch it across the screen. I avoid hitting into it as it wears down rather quick. When I hit a full SW that I know will hit the net I move my LM forward. You can see the net on a link in my earlier post. I got another good effect of the net that I did not plan for as it collects the high velocity bounce backs from the screen.

Archery netting from West Coast Netting. Several feet adjacent to screen is foam on ceiling. Wheee did you purchase your ceiling foam.

Thanks Torreypines. Great set-up there. That is basically what I am looking for. One problem I think I am going to run into is how close I can be to screen with a net. I have curtain tracks that run across the front of my screen, as when I am not using sim, side curtains close in front of screen. I need a drop in front of about 10"-12" closest to screen so net is lower than tracks. How is yours mounted near the screen? Thanks again for the photo.

The screen is supported by mini bungees attached to angle iron on perimeter of screen. Behind the screen is an archery net also attached to angle iron by bungees. The ceiling archery net at screen is attached to the angle iron with plastic zip ties. There is approximately 8 inches of space behind screen. The left and right side of ceiling archery net is attached to the curtain rail by plastic zip ties. I added the ceiling foam to the first several feet at screen front to protect ceiling from full flop shots. There is enough distance between archery net and ceiling otherwise that prevents ball from hitting ceiling.

That makes sesne. The angle iron should give the drop I need. Thanks again Torreypines
