Tour Regulations and Users Guide

Postby CatMan » Thu Mar 05, 2015 6:53 pm

Ball Settings

1. Players MUST set the ball type to the actual ball they are physically hitting. Players are to hit either a Real ball or Foam ball if their setup allows, due to unreliable data from the No Ball setting.

Clubset Settings

1. Players Driver settings MUST be set to the following, dependant on the ball and turf type they are using.

a. Real Ball, Stock Turf - 100% Speed, 88% Distance.............

b. Real Ball, Thick Turf - 100% Speed 88% Distance...............

c. Foam Ball, Stock Turf - 93% Speed, 88% Distance.............

d. Foam Ball, Thick Turf - 100% Speed, 88% Distance... Note May need to tee lower to get accurate swing speed.

e. No Ball Setting - 100% Speed 88% Distance ......................

2. Players MUST set the Loft and Offset settings of all clubs to the loft of the club they are physically hitting

3. If using a 3 wood instead of Driver due to Height Restrictions, use Identical settings to those you would normally use as per your ball and turf setup above.

4. 3 wood and 5 wood MUST NOT exceed Speed 100% Distance 100%. Players can always adjust lower.

5. Players Irons MUST be set to achieve real world distances and both Speed% and Distance % settings may be altered up or down to achieve the correct distances.

6. Players may set the Putter Speed % Setting between 80% and 100% to reflect their real life Putting stroke. The Distance % MUST remain at 100%. When Putting, players MUST hit either a real or foam ball, unless using the No Ball Setting for the whole round.

7. Players MUST NOT carry out any adjustments to any Clubset Settings during a round.

8. - Penalty. Anyone found in breach of the above settings shall be removed from the Tournament and/or face further action.

Trajectory Settings

1. The Highest Trajectory setting MUST NEVER be used off the tee or for approach shots from the fairway/rough purely in order to gain yardage but is to be used in situations when a higher trajectory is required to clear obstacles or obstructions. All other trajectory settings may be used and altered at any time with any club during a round.

2 - Penalty - Anyone found in breach of the above guideline shall be awarded a 2 stroke penalty for each individual offense.

Screen Recording Requirement

1. While it is not mandatory, all Players are encouraged to record/stream their rounds and upload them via Twitch or Youtube within 24 hours of completing their round. This helps to relieve any suspicion of game “tampering”. If unable to record or stream, you are still obligated to provide such video if questions arise about your game play.

2. Before starting round please show Ball Setting and Clubset Settings for EVERY club.

3. If when viewing another Players uploaded video you spot what you believe to be a breach of any of these guidelines you are to report it to Tour Administrator, giving the Players Name, a link to the video, the breach you wish to report, and the time that the proposed breach occurs.

Tournament Registration

To register to play in a Tournament go to the Tournament tab on the scoring site (simulation.onlinegolftour.net), and select the Tournament you wish to enter, and click the House symbol (homepage) button. This will take you to the Tournament Homepage, which will then show all the information about the event. Click the Register button in the left hand menu bar and you will be entered into the tournament and added to the tournament.

Gameplay Format

1. Tournaments will be set in 2-4 Rounds for each Event. Matches will be created on Monday for all Tournaments. Invitations will be sent directly to your Optishot and you will be notified via Email. Please pay attention to the Round you enter and enter the scores on the correct Round scorecard on the simulation website.

In general, the following applies:
Invitations: Round 1 will go out by 10PM EST Monday Night, Round 2 Invites will go out by 10PM Tuesday night, Round 3 invites will go out by 10PM EST Wednesday Night and Round 4 invites will go out by 10PM EST Thursday Night.

2. All rounds need to be completed by Sunday Night at 10PM EST, so Tournament can be closed out. If all Rounds are not completed then a Player will be given a final score of DNF for the Event.

3. Once you begin a Round you must complete that Round. If you exit the Round before completion you will be disqualified from the Tournament. However if this is due to circumstance beyond your control, e.g., power cut or software error, this will be dealt with on a case by case basis by the Board.

Simluation.Onlinegolftour.net Scorecard

1. After accepting your invite and when starting your round on Optishot you must also login to the simulation.onlinegolftour.net scoring site, select the Tournament, then Leaderboard, then select Play just above the Leaderboard. Then select the appropriate Round for scores to be entered.

2. Scores for all Rounds should be entered in Live format, whenever possible. Entry will be done after completion of each hole and player must enter score for each on the website. This will give players the opportunity to know where they sit during game play and give live in running scores.

3. All scorecards will be verified and any scorecard that is inaccurate is subject to a 2 stroke penalty for EACH Entry that is incorrect. If it is found that the entry was done on purpose it will result in disqualification from the Tournament.

Multiple Local Players on Tour Events

1. If multiple local players wish to play on the same Tour Event they must first inform the management board of their requirement to do so and have their application approved. There can be a maximum of 3 local players total.

2. Players will be sent a regular invites to their Optishot User name as per normal tournament procedures. This enables the player to play his round individually as normal if he and his fellow local player(s) do not wish to play their rounds together.

3. If the multiple local players do wish to play their round together they must complete the following procedure:

a. Player 1 must log into his Optishot and select Create a Game

b. He MUST then ensure he sets all the game settings including course, tee box, wind direction and speed, weather, green speed, fairway speed, Mulligan setting to OFF, Putting set to PUTT OUT IN OPTISHOT (no gimmies) to exactly as those specified in the relevant tournament thread for the round to be played.

c. Select the Private(Invite Only) Option, and click Create.

d. Player 1 can then select Add Local Player and get his fellow local players to sign in and add them to the tee box for the round.

e. VERY IMPORTANT - Player 1 MUST than also select INVITE REMOTE PLAYER and in the lower search box type in the Tour Admins user name braycobb and click the search button. Once found click the the + button to add braycobb to the tee box for the round.

If braycobb is not added to the tee box the round will be void and the round will have to be replayed. Persistent failure to adhere to this rule will result in the Multiple Local Players permission being revoked.

This ensures the settings of the round and the scorecards can be verified by braycobb once the round is completed.

6. All rounds played with Multiple Local Players MUST be recorded and uploaded and a link to the tournament video placed in the tour videos thread.

7. All other rules and guidelines regarding the updating of scorecards, clubset settings and video guidelines must also be followed.

Handicapping

1. The Administrator will auto-calculate before each tournament using a range -15 to +10, all players under 6 rounds will be adjusted to a conservative index until 6 rounds are achieved.

Upon joining the OGT Optishot Tour all New Players will be allocated a -10 Index Handicap as a starting point and will be adjusted for each event as follows.

Please note ESC is now used on all league golf holes. I wont go into too much detail but basically all 10 handicaps or lower can not make more than a double bogey, for handicap purposes ONLY. All rounds that are in our system have been computed and a new total score with ESC included has been calculated. This helps remove blow up holes which are not reflective of ones ability, which is the purpose of the handicap.

Your Handicap will be calculated as follows

Event 1 - Handicap -10

Event 2 - Handicap set to (Lowest Gross - Course Rating) x (113/Slope) ( Eg Lowest Gross Score was 80 on Course Rating of 75, x 113/Slope Rating of 140 so Handicap would be 4)

Event 3 - Handicap set to (Lowest Gross - Course Rating) x (113/Slope) - 1 ( Eg Lowest Gross Score was 80 on Course Rating of 75 x 113/Slope Rating of 140, = 4, -1 so Handicap would be 3 )

Event 4 - Automatic Handicap System takes over, however manual adjustment may be done as above depending on what system allocates as opposed to performance over last 2 events

Event 5 - Fully automatic Handicap system in place, points awarded based on final position and also eligible to win the Event overall

The Automatic Handicap system takes the average of the best 4 out last of 8, the best 4 out of last 9 or the best 5 out of the last 10 rounds, with the net score being calculated using the same formula as the manual adjustments above

Please read fully and understand rules above, ensure you have the OBS recording software installed and tested, and familiarise yourself with both the Optishot Software, The simulation.onlinegolftour.net website and these forums

Once you are fully setup and ready to take part in an event, have completed the necessary Clubset Settings, have Screen Recording Software in place, and are fully familiar with all the above Rules and guideline please post below that you have read, fully understood and agree to comply with all the above.

Guidelines can be modified at anytime and will be posted on this Thread..

So please subscribe to the Thread so you are made aware of any Updates.

Welcome to the Optishot Online Tour - please now post below that you have read and understood these guidelines, and then once you have done so return to viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11 to continue reading the New Player Setup Guide.
