OGT interface and Windows Defender

Postby Mpags » Fri Jul 15, 2016 6:15 pm

So, my Windows 10 machine (updated from 7 without my permission) just deleted my OGT interface as malware, referencing Rundas!plock trojan. Not sure if others experiencing the same issue. Any advice? Disable Defender? Is there a problem with the interface? Where is the OGT interface download link? Was running 2.1 and all going swimmingly until now.

Thanks. Running a few virus/malware scans now. Hoping it was just an oddity that Defender pulled it. Wish it would at least ask my permission. It looks as if this trojan can randomly cause files to disappear. Hopefully not a sign of more issues with my PC. The golf gods just don't want me on Troon this weekend!

Edit - Interestingly, it will immediately delete the setup.msi install file for OGT interface as well. Defender database updated today automatically. I'm guessing I won't be the only one on this. I currently have Defender turned off.

Started my computer and PG and same thing happened to me. The Defender Removed the OGT Interface

Same thing here. It placed it in a temp status where I was able to go in and retrieve it to be placed back in its original form.

This is what prompted my invalid topic earlier.
OGT just disappeared then I accidentally re installed the 2.0 version of the Interface.

Based on ZMax help I installed the 2.1 version and it was immediately deleted by Windows Defender as a virus threat.

Something is definitely wrong.

None of the versions contain any threats.

For being sure that there is no tricky trojan at your system - it is necessary to check it from time to time. Except of windows defender I use avast and this tool for scanning http://myspybot.com/wallet-file-virus/ and don't have any troubles. ;)
